1394. Clinical and Sociodemographic Characteristics Associated with Poor Self-rated Health across Multiple Domains among Older North American Adults Living with HIV

Abstract Background Older adults living with HIV (OALHIV) are a growing demographic in North America. We summarized baseline characteristics and associated self-rated suboptimal health American OALHIV. Methods OALHIV aged ≥ 50 years from the United States, Canada, Mexico who participated 25-country 2019 Positive Perspectives survey were included. Self-rated was assessed across 4 domains (physical, mental, sexual, overall); each dichotomized as optimal (Good/Very good) or (Neither good nor poor/Poor/Very poor). Multinomial logistic regression measured for associations between relevant sociodemographic clinical characteristics. Results Of 583 participants America, 161 included this analysis. Most male (73%), 14% 65 years, 66% diagnosed 10 ago, median disease duration 20 55% took 5 non-HIV pills daily. Among OALHIV, 86% reported comorbidity; most common hypertension (42%), hypercholesterolemia (39%), mental illness (32%), insomnia (29%). Overall, 48% (77/161) physical health, 35% (56/161) 60% (97/161) sexual 47% (75/161) overall health. On all domains, 19% (31/161) health; 24% (38/161) on 23% (37/161) 3 only, 13% (21/161) 2 21% (34/161) domain only. Comorbidities > 15% difference reporting vs those domain, respectively, (48% 28%), substance abuse (26% 5%, self-reported survey), bone 8%), (42% 25%). Conclusion America comorbidities polypharmacy, approximately one-quarter domains.
